The Association for the Advancement of Arts Education (AAAE) was created to help teachers understand and use the process of arts integration in their classrooms. The goal of AAAE's programs and services is to increase opportunities for students to learn by using their creative skills in combination with the traditional curriculum. AAAE accomplishes its mission by offering workshops, resources and professional development opportunities for teachers. AAAE's workshop series offers instruction in a variety of subjects, including grant writing, proficiency connections and assessments and promotes collaboration among arts providers and schools. The Directory of Professional Arts Education Resources, published by AAAE, provides in-depth information about regional arts education programs. Through its flagship program, Arts Connections, AAAE works with teams of teachers and artists to combine arts integration with the theory of multiple intelligences.
